A DAY AT SEA

A day at sea can be the most relaxing day you've ever experienced, or one of the busiest days of the cruise, depending on what you choose to do.  Sleeping til almost 10, we groggily found our way to breakfast.  Bunni and Joe had also slept late and as we sat at the back of the boat and ate, we planned our day.  There was wandering around the boat, the casino with the Slots tournament, Trivia in the Wheelhouse Bar, and sitting in the sun (or shade, for me).  Ellen was off to her first Zumba class and then we met at the Port and Shopping Talk in the Princess Theater to find out where all the great shopping would be on the islands.

We had a 2 for 1 coupon for the Slots Tournament, so we went down to the casino before lunch.  In the first round, players are seated at a machine, and given 100 "pulls" on the machine.  Of course the "pulls" are the "push" of the button at maximum bet.  Eight or ten machines are played at once, and the highest scores are put on the leaderboard.  After several rounds, only the scores that beat the lowest score is put up.  This is the first round and it goes on until a set time, in our case: 2:30.

Of all the times for me to hit the jackpot, it happened during the first round of the tournament.  Three of the same...TOP PRIZE..when I would have won 10,000 coins, happened during the first round of the slots tournament.  So, there I was, on the leaderboard, in the top slot with over 15,000 points.  I am the champion...at least til the final round at 2:30.

So, at 2:30, everyone came back and the top people on the leaderboard were chosen to play the final round.  My luck did not continue (big surprise) and I did not come in first to win the $500 jackpot.  But, it was fun.

After the tournament we went to an English Style Pub lunch in the Wheelhouse Bar and had a fairly decent meal of fish and chips with malt vinegar and mashed peas.  We finished off the afternoon at the pool, listening to the band, reading and falling asleep.

Being a day at sea, it was our first "Formal Night" which required dressing up.  Our tablemates were there tonight.  Frank, Dorothy and their two children, Nick and Abbey joined us. They were a delightful family, and would make our evening meals enjoyable throughout the cruise.
